The Academy at Newport Contemporary Ballet has been providing dance education of the highest quality to children and adults from all over Rhode Island since 1979. The Academy trains both professional dancers and students who dance for the exercise and pure love of movement.
New registrations are taken throughout the year when space is available in classes. Feel free to come observe any class or drop in to take a class. We look forward to welcoming all new students to The Academy!
Core Dance Program
The ACADEMY at NCB provides the highest level of dance education for all ages and skill levels. Ongoing classes in ballet, pointe, contemporary, hip hop, and jazz, as well as special workshops in other forms are offered.
Adult Classes
The Academy at NCB offers adult classes in ballet, barre, ballroom, stretch, and zumba . All levels are welcome to enjoy the love of movement in a comfortable, welcoming environment.
Performance Opportunities
Performance experience is available in the end of year showcase. Students seeking expanded performance opportunities may be invited to NCB’s Junior Company, and may audition for NCB family series performances.
